Paper for the People began in protest and celebration.
It was created while standing up and speaking out in hopes of bringing about meaningful change.

As a former educator in New York City, I learned a tremendous amount about community and what it means to truly care for those around you. Through paper, a seemingly benign medium, I hope to spark conversation that leads to a more compassionate, equitable, and just future. In my illustration, it is my hope to represent thriving neighborhoods full of tender moments, interaction, and care so that we may begin to shift away from hyper-individuality and create a future that reconnects with humanity and celebrates the strengths of diversity.

My work explores joy as resistance and the power of community.
It is rooted in the teachings of Black and Indigenous leaders, steadfast in what it means to be truly liberated.
It seeks Justice so that there may be Peace.
It is a reimagining of how we move forward with great consideration for one another.

I currently reside in Brooklyn, New York, with my husband, Mario. I love books, horror films, all things disco, and Prince!

I would be thrilled to collaborate with you on your next project, whether it be editorial, commercial, or children’s illustration.
